    Taveuni Rainforest Wildlife

    Fiji’s rainforests are incredibly well preserved, since the islands are protected from the kind of expansionism that threatens mainland rainforests. According to the World Conservation Monitoring Centre, the Fijian rainforest contains roughly 164 species of amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. What’s more, 30% of these animals are found only in Fiji—they can’t be seen anywhere else in the world. Some of these native Fijian creatures include:
