Where to Take a Dip During a Taveuni Vacation?

As you probably guessed, finding a refreshing source of water for a swim in Fiji is quite easy. On these gorgeous islands is every option imaginable from freshwater falls to salty, tropical reefs. However, if you’re planning a Taveuni vacation, you are likely looking for more specific advice on where to cool off during Fiji’s hot afternoons. Luckily, the team at Raiwasa Private Resort is sharing our favorite spots to take a dip on Taveuni.

#1: The Third Waterfall in Bouma National Heritage Park

Tucked into the dense jungle of Bouma National Heritage Park is a series of three stunning waterfalls. You can read about the hike to these falls in an earlier blog post. So, today we want to talk about a highlight of this enjoyable walk.

At the base of each waterfall is a freshwater pool that begs visitors to take a dip. You’ll find these inviting pools at the bottom of each waterfall, which means it isn’t a requirement to hike all the way to the third fall, but there’s a good argument to make the extra effort. You’re far more likely to find the third waterfall entirely empty and have it all to yourself.

#2: The Private Beach at Raiwasa

Longing for your own patch of sand while on a Taveuni vacation? Located right on Raiwasa’s property is a private beach all your own. This secluded location is a mere set of stairs away from our stunning villa, and thanks to Taveuni’s cliff-lined coastline is tucked out of view from our neighbors. Relax in the sand, spend the day lounging on our beach bure, or take the kayaks out for a paddle. Our private beach is a fantastic location for snorkeling or just drifting in the ocean, and as the sunsets, you won’t find a more personal or romantic ocean location on the island.

#3: Boat to the Beaches of Nearby Islands and Islets

Your Taveuni vacation is already an exciting getaway, but there is something enticing about island hoping for an afternoon. Taveuni is located in close proximity to several other islands and islets that have beautiful beaches of all sizes and shapes. You’ll definitely want to take a day and explore the surrounding area!

You don’t have to captain your own ship or know nautical directions to reach these nearby beaches. Through the best tour companies on the island, Raiwasa Private Resort can arrange an unforgettable day trip out on the water. Based on your preferences and expectations, these tours can follow several different itineraries, and Raiwasa will ensure you have the ideal day.

#4: Swimming at the End of the Lavena Coastal Walk

We brag about the Lavena Coastal Walk on Taveuni all the time, but that’s simply because it is one of the true highlights on the island. And to top off the magic of this jungle adventure, there is an opportunity to take a swim at the end. This beautiful hike takes you through some of Taveuni’s lush jungle, but the final destination is along the coast. As the jungle gives way to Lavena Point, a great place for a refreshing swim.

    #5: Raiwasa’s Magical Infinity Pool

There are few luxuries that can compare with having unfettered access to a private infinity pool while on you Taveuni vacation. By booking accommodation with a private pool, you have the opportunity to wake up and immediately go for a swim, spend your afternoon uninterrupted alternating between the pool and nearby bure, and even watch an incredible Fiji sunset from the water.

At Raiwasa, we took the concept of a private pool even further. Our cliffside infinity pool offers a 180-degree over the ocean and sits surrounded by concealing jungle plants. As well, our pool features a spectacular mirrored edge that gives you the feeling of standing on very edge of Taveuni as you sip a cocktail and watch the sun disappear. The combination of vistas and privacy is unmatched anywhere on the island, and its all yours.
